Bill Allen

- Description: Bill will talk about his experience at the MIT AI lab in the late 60's and will tell why the lab failed to meet it's most ambitious objectives. Bill Allen was a physics major at Cal Tech in the early 60's and suffered through Feynman's introductory class. After two years at Cal Bill left to run the communication networks for the various civil rights marches in the south. After 1968 Bill went to MIT to complete his degree but ended up both running the MIT student radio station and working in the AI lab. After leaving MIT Bill ran an advertising agency, worked as a police officer in New Hampshire, worked as a private investigator, wrote articles for early computer magazines, developed some early medical training software for Apple II at Texas Tech. Bill is currently working on a W.W.II Novel.
